More Galveston, Texas.

Monument honorigng all the soldiers and their families from Texas who fought for the Confederate States of America during the Civil War.

Repaired after the Hurricane at the turn of the century. Then later rebuilt. This is the U.S. Custom House and Federal Building. This also served as the Confederate Post Office. It was recaptured by the CSA in the Battle of Galveston. The Confederate Flag flew there until the end of the war.

This is a photo of the federal building during the Civil War.

This is the Hendley Building. It was occupied by Union troops during the Battle of Galveston. The picture below is the old confederate jail. Confederate troops were in here during the battle. The crazy thing is, these buildings are across teh street from each other, and troops from both sides were firing across at each other.

Powhatan House. Built in 1847.
