Now that the Mavs got their "learning experience" I can turn my thoughts to my true sports love: college football. I cannot wait til august when the pads get strapped on and helmets start smacking. I have to be happy now cause once the season starts heartbreak will most assuredly set in again. My beloved Aggies are predicted to be 8-4 with losses to Texas, OU, Baylor (what the F*CK), and Texas Tech (I will kill myself). College football is the greatest sport around. It is probably the only sport in this country that has such a rabid fanbase that people live and breathe it. College football has very few if any fair weather fans. Fans are loyal and will never give up hope for their team no matter how bleak it is. And no matter how depressed you were by last year you can always tell yourself "Just wait til next year MUTHA F*CKERS!!!

I hear ya. College Football is more of a lifestyle and obsession than a mere sport. It can be argued about, talked about, discussed, broken down and analyzed for hour after hour, day after day more than any other sport in existence. The BCS system is a man's soap opera and the pageantry and level of dedication to ones team is nothing short of a sickness.
That said, I remember that game in College Station: it was in 2001 if I'm not mistaken and I vividly remember Carlos Francis dropping a wide open TD pass from Kliff in the endzone... still haven't forgiven him for that.
I remember that game because we had the terrible all-white jerseys and because it was one of the only times A&M has beaten the superior Red Raiders in the last 12 years.
If Fran can put together 8-4 season next year I will be shocked, surprised and he will deserve some kind of award. The Baylor game is close every year these days.

AH!! The shit talking starts early. I love it. Although it make Sept 30th seem so far away. We MUST go to the game in College Station. You and I have been friends for a long time Mr. Whitlock, but I will look you dead in the eye and call you things that even satan himself couldn't think of. Just know it's not personal I love ya like a brother but from 6pm to the end of the game. I will hate everything you stand for. And as previously stated I will hang myself from the scoreboard at Kyle Field if Graham Harrell beats my aggies in College Station. I love this. All sports should inspire this much passion.
P.S. I will absolutely scream hatefull things about Tech and Lubbock in general. So... Ya' know be prepared for that.
